Become a Retail Collector
If you work at a store or a municipal facility that's open to the public, we need your help to collect consumer batteries!
Join our growing team of over 3000 public facing battery recycling locations and help us divert consumer batteries from local landfills.
Becoming a public recycling point for batteries has never been easier in Ontario. Primary batteries are a designated waste, which means they must be recycled when they no longer hold a charge.
The battery manufacturers fund this program and you will incur no cost.
The Raw Materials Company Experience
We work closely with all of our collectors. We arrange our own transportation service to your site so there will always be someone available to answer your questions and to provide you with suggestions to help increase participation at your site.
In between collections, we're only a phone call away.
Besides doing something great for the environment, statistics show that there are benefits to providing this value added service to your clients.
- Increased traffic
- Increased sales; people are likely to shop for items they recycle
- Positive support for a store program that benefits the local environment
Identifiable Recycling Containers
All of our battery recycling containers are branded, clearly identifying the acceptable batteries for recycling.
Should you wish to rally your staff and community behind your very own battery recycling program, we are happy to provide you with all the specifications to design your own labels.
Need help promoting your program? We can provide you with a variety of print and electronic promotional materials to help you engage your staff and customers to participate.
Fast & Convenient Pickup
Once battery collection containers are full, simply call the number located on the container. Pick up can be arranged in as little as 24 hours.
Raw Materials Company is a licensed collector, transporter, and processor of other lead and mercury bearing wastes such as fluorescent lamps and electronic waste.
We recommend our Courier Back Fluorescent Lamp Program to small quantity retail generators of fluorescent lamps or bulbs.
Preparing your Batteries for Recycling
Most of the batteries that we use everyday do not require any special preparation before recycling, however we do recommend that precautionary measures be taken when recycling certain types of batteries to reduce any risk of short-circuit.
Our clients can rest assured knowing that the batteries they ship to RMC will be recycled using the most environmetally sustainable technology available in the world today.
