Battery and fuel cell technologies are rapidly being developed in this new millenium.
Currently, automotive companies such as Ford, Chrysler and Toyota have advanced forward with battery
powered automobiles. Lead Acid and Nickle Metal Hydride Battery Cells are being used to replace fossil fuels
such as gasoline and diesel.
What are you doing about your waste mercury problem? The U.S. E.P.A. estimates that 11.6 tonnes of mercury in
light tubes will be discarded in 2000. Currently landfilling accounts for 82% of florescent tube disposal,
incineration for 16%, and recycling just 2%. Are you Recyling?
Computer component recycling - the wave of the future. Obsolete computer and electronic components are currently
being recycled. Units are broken down and separated into their various components. Plastic, metal and glass are reused
in re-manufacturing. Many units may contain hazardous materials and should be properly disposed of. Landfills in
the Province of Ontario are beginning to ban computer and electronic equipment, due to the hazardous components and
recycling potential.
