Mission Statement

Raw Materials Company was founded as a result of our commitment to a safer environment through the proper recycling and conversion of otherwise waste materials into reusable products. This energy conserving resource preservation is crucial to a cleaner global environment. Diligent health and saftey policies are implemented to protect our employees and the general public.

Our Background is Recycling

Raw Materials Company is a Division of International Marine Salvage Inc., a company with deep roots in the recycling industry. International Marine Salvage Inc., and affiliated companies have been actively recycling for more than 25 years. Long before the word "recycling" became popular, these companies were recycling obsolete secondary materials for re-use in the marketplace. The list includes most metals such as lead, copper, aluminum, nickel alloys, tin, bronze, brass, steel, cadmium and zinc.

Since 1985, in excess of 150,000 tons of steel have been recycled from dismantling ships. This steel has been primarily remelted into new steel by domestic steel producers. Substantial tonnage has also been transported aboard ocean vessels to various mills in Asia, for rerolling into new bars and structural shapes. Still further materials from ship dismantling have been re-used to build shore protection walls, piers and marina construction. These efforts resulted in successful, clean, energy conserving re-use of obsolete materials.

The group has recycled in excess of 500,000 tons of obsolete secondary materials to date and looks forward to a future of responsible recycling, resulting in a cleaner environment through energy conservation and the preservation of our natural resources. Metal is infinitely recyclable. Metals found in the various battery types such as lead, nickel, zinc, cadmium and mercury can be recycled and re-used over and over again.

Health and Safety are of utmost importance at RMC. Full medical surveillance, respirator and hygiene programs are in place. With ongoing education, more than 50% of current staff are trained in First Aid/CPR procedures.
